 Course Description

 Joseph Pilates pioneered this form of exercise, which has many therapeutic and rehabilitative qualities. Pilates is essentially a mind-body centring technique that emphasises the importance of beginning movement form a central core of stability. This Modified Pilates class will be based on this principle and aims to strengthen the core muscles of your spine, pelvis and shoulder area. It is a gentle, slow-paced form of exercise in which you will use a mat to perform your exercises. As well as strengthening your core muscles this course also aims to improve your flexibility, coordination, balance and posture.

 

 

Week 1 Pilates principles and introduction to Pilates exercises

Week 2 Review of Pilates principles and full Pilates workout including warm-up, main exercises and cool down.

Week 3 Full Pilates workout, building repertoire of exercises and progressions.

Week 4 Full Pilates workout, building repertoire of exercises and progressions.

Week 5 Full Pilates workout, building repertoire of exercises and progressions.

Week 6 Full Pilates workout, building repertoire of exercises and progressions.
