Exercise for body, mind & spirit taught by Kalichi
Wednesday 7.00pm - 8.00pm
What is Tai Chi?
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese exercise-art, a system of activating the body for the simultaneous development of physical, mental and emotional well-being. The relaxed, gentle movements of Tai Chi keep the body aligned and well-postured. The exercises teach physical balance and co-ordination, and stimulate breathing, so that the student becomes physically and inwardly centred.
Improved concentration and higher energy levels add pleasantly to this list, making Tai Chi increasingly acknowledged by the medical profession as a valid addition to normal treatment. Whether one’s interest is health, well-being or exercise, Tai Chi has lessons for all us.
A typical class involves a warmup of loosening and stretching exercises followed by learning the Tai Chi Yang style form. Simple traditional Chinese health exercises that can be built into everyday life are also taught in the class.
